Bike Maintenance
Fitted a replacement rearset and undertray. - 08 April 2007 - Saturday, August 04, 2007
Well first job was to fit the replacement left hand rearset and gear linkeage which went ok, little bit of Kripton Factor but got there in the end.

Then I decided to go ahead and fit the undertray that I bought about a month ago, it went ok, was tricky in places but luckily I had already bought a rear subframe and existing black undertray from Ebay that a previous owner had pre-chopped, so firstly I didnt need to chop my items and secondly mine are all intact if I want to return to standard.

All old stuff removed ready for the task in hand:-  Looks quite cool really.

These are the bits removed, as I had replacement parts already cut in the right places.

This picture is another with all the parts removed:-

More pics of work complted today. - 08 April 2007 - Saturday, August 04, 2007
Rear subframe and black undertray refitted, cut down versions anyway.

This is the new fibreglass undertray, did my head in trying to work out how it fitted, but once sussed it was simple really, no extra drilling or nasty stuff like that, pretty much held in place by the seat plastic.

New undertray well on way to being fitted.

The fitment continues - 08 April 2007 - Saturday, August 04, 2007
Beginning to look pretty good I recon:-

Rear lights fitted but not connected to the bike electrics yet.
This item really does change the whole appearance of the backend.  Well pleased.

Bike after a wash. You can see here that the fairing is quite heavily scratched, but not alot I can do about that now.

All that remains to do is:-

Wire up the rear lights
Fit mini indicators (maybe)
Fit a tail tidy and small numberplate.
Oil change - Saturday, August 04, 2007
Well today when I started my Bike up I noticed that I had a FI warning and a flashing red led, not having a manual, I assumed that this stood for "Fluid".  I therefore checked the oil level which was a tad low.

I therefore topped this up and promptly overfilled it, so the warning was still on.

I decided to drain some oil out but cocked it up big time and dumped 3 litres of nice Motrax top grade oil all over my driveway.

After a quick trip to the local Suzuki Dealer I was able to refill the engine with again top grade fully Synthetic oil.
The engine will be happy with a full oil change but me I was just a tad pi$$ed off.

Anyway, starting the engine again and guess what...the FI was still on.

DAMN.

Time to sort through all my paperwork to find the manual.

On finding the Manual I discovered that the FI actually stood for Fuel Injection system and not Fluid.

Anyway the fault was supposedly serious enough for the engine to be unable to start......of course to condradict this by Gixxer did start.

Now really fed up and panicing about the thought of a track day on Friday and a knackered bike I walked away.

Came back 30 mins laterz...started the bike and yep you guessed it...warning lights all gone.

What the?

So, bike full oil change, £50 out of pocket to fix NO fault.
